John B. Jack Speight

Jack Speight is a shareholder in the law firm of Speight, McCue & Crank, P.C.  He, along with Robert T. “Bob” McCue, founded the firm on January 1, 2002.  Prior to that time, he was in private practice in Cheyenne since 1972.  Before entering private practice, Mr. Speight was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wyoming, Administrative and Legal Assistant to Governor Stanley K. Hathaway, Attorney for the Reorganization Commission of Wyoming, Assistant United States Attorney for Wyoming, Consultant to Secretary of Interior Stanley K. Hathaway, as well as in private practice.  His main area of practice is in personal injury law, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation, and insurance litigation, at both the trial and appellate stages.

Robert T. McCue is a shareholder in the law firm of Speight, McCue & Crank, P.C.  He, along with John B. “Jack” Speight, founded the firm on January 1, 2002.  Prior to that time, he was in private practice in Cheyenne since 1986.  His practice emphasis includes real estate, environmental and construction law, public and municipal finance, as well as personal injury and commercial litigation.

Mr. McCue was admitted to the Wyoming Bar in 1986.  He is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in the State of Wyoming, as well as the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit and U.S. Claims Court.

Patrick J. Crank

Patrick J. Crank is a shareholder in the law firm of Speight, McCue & Crank, P.C.  He joined the firm as a named shareholder on September 1, 2007.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Crank was served as Wyoming Attorney General supervising a legal staff of approximately 70 attorneys and 25 support personnel. 

As the State’s chief legal advisor for over four and one-half years, Mr. Crank practiced law in diverse areas rarely allowed in private practice.  These areas include federal and state constitutional law, local government, bonding/finance, tort litigation, water law, federal and state administrative law, criminal law, mineral taxation, elections, education, natural resource litigation, environmental quality, health, family services, consumer protection, workers’ compensation, employment, contracts, transactional and personnel law.

Before serving as Wyoming Attorney General, Mr. Crank served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Wyoming (1990-2002); Assistant District Attorney for Natrona County, Wyoming (1987-1990); and Assistant Wyoming Attorney General (1985-1987).

Throughout his career, Mr. Crank has been heavily involved in litigation.  He has tried over 75 jury trials ranging in length from one day to 12 weeks.  Those trials covered a full gamut of criminal practice from multi-million dollar fraud cases and murder cases to traffic violations and included trials in both state and federal courts.  He has also had extensive federal and state appellate practice before the Wyoming Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
